Job Summary:
As a student of software QA at Cerence Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of embedded software products in automotive head units. This role involves automating test features using Python or Java, enhancing test automation frameworks, and collaborating with global teams to achieve efficient testing and issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Flashing/updating embedded software into target head units.
- Maintain test setups for embedded components (testbench and car).
- Reproduce issues and verify fixes in the test environment in collaboration with system developers.
- Automate features in Python/Java.
- Enhance the test automation framework to support new features and improve test efficiency.
- Analyze test results and perform failure analysis using data-driven metrics for continuous improvement.
- Review product requirements, user experience specifications, and technical design specifications for testability.
- Develop test plans and test cases for specific projects.
- Conduct test plan/case reviews with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Build and maintain requirement/test case/test result traceability matrix.
- Collaborate effectively with multiple teams across different continents.
- Escalate issues, concerns, and risks as needed.
Requirements:
- Enrolled student in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Very good programming skills in Python/Java and understanding of object-oriented concepts.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with QA metrics and criteria.
- Strong problem-solving skills and self-reliance.
- Attention to detail, interpersonal communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable with strong project closure discipline.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficiency in Wiki-based tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience with Jenkins.
