Job Summary:
As a Software Engineer Intern focusing on mobile development at Pilot, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the web and mobile applications and supporting the system architecture/infrastructure. The role offers remote-first, flexible full-time work, including a 4-day work week if tasks are completed on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mobile App Development:
- Building out iOS and Android apps using ReactNative.
- Work on web app development as needed.
- System Architecture and Infrastructure:
- Migrate the database from Firebase to a more scalable solution like MongoDB.
- Handle backend infrastructure and system architecture tasks.
Candidate Traits:
- Great communicator, strong spoken and written communication ability.
- Able to think, work, and learn independently, but also a team player.
- Curious, loves learning, especially about travel.
Skills and Experience:
- Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, including prototypical inheritance, scope, and closures.
- Knowledge of ES6 features, open standards, and web technologies.
- Experience with ReactNative or comparable JS frameworks (Flutter, Vue.js).
- Proficiency in TypeScript.
- Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with frontend and mobile development and deployment.
- Node.js experience.
- System architecture and cloud platforms experience.
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Previous experience launching web or mobile applications.
