Main Purpose:
Recruiting a data integration engineer for handling the full data integration lifecycle in a complex commercial environment. The role involves managing market data and fundamental data for business analysts, data scientists, traders, and applications like dashboards and trading systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Data ingestion / integration, ETL/ELT data pipeline design, data modeling, data provisioning
- Proficiency in Python, SQL
- Experience with AWS data stack (e.g., S3, Redshift, EMR, Glue, Athena)
- Experience with commodities, financial markets, power generation, weather, or shipping data is a plus
Abilities, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
- AWS certifications are advantageous
- Experience with enterprise-scale data systems
Competencies:
- Effective communication with diverse stakeholders across business and technology
- Implementation of software engineering best practices
- Ability to work as part of a global team using agile management methods
Key Relationships and Department Overview:
- Reports into the DSE Global Data Engineering Manager within the Data Science and Engineering team at Trafigura.
- Collaborates closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Quantitative Finance experts.
- Front-office aligned team supporting trading desks, global research, and enterprise technology.
