Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Management:
- Create, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for extracting and loading data from both cloud and on-premises sources into the Data Lake.
- Assemble large and complex data sets to meet business requirements.
- System Integration and Optimization:
- Adapt configurations for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various sources.
- Evaluate and propose improvements to current data architecture.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Build tools to analyze data and provide actionable insights into business metrics such as customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
- Develop small applications to support analytics and data science teams in optimizing product and production needs.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Experience:
- At least 5 years in a Data Engineer role with a strong background in data pipeline development and optimization.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and ETL transformation tools (e.g., Apache Camel, TimeXtender, Data Factory).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Proficiency in building and managing ‘big data’ architectures and data sets.
- Familiarity with various file formats (Parquet, JSON, CSV, XML) and programming languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.).
- Experience with Azure data components and Databricks.
- Analytical and Communication Skills:
- Strong analytic skills for handling unstructured datasets.
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and scalable ‘big data’ stores.
- Agile methodologies experience and familiarity with Azure DevOps.
- ML and AI experience, SAP knowledge, and data-related Azure certifications are a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.
