Job Description
In this role, you will constantly learn and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies. You will work with a variety of tools and technologies, including big data platforms, machine learning frameworks, and data visualization tools, to create effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Lead the design and development of cloud-based data and analytics platforms.
- Data Operations: Perform data orchestration, transformation, and visualization with large datasets.
- Data Ingestion: Develop and maintain data pipelines for extracting and loading data into Azure and Databricks environments.
- Data Transformation: Design and implement data transformation processes ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Data Modeling: Maintain data models and schemas for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Data Warehousing: Build data lakes using Azure services like Azure Data Lake Storage and Databricks DeltaLake.
- Data Governance: Implement practices for data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize data pipelines and queries for improved performance.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with other teams.
- Data Visualization: Build BI reports for quicker decision-making.
- Documentation: Document engineering processes and data flows for future reference.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of work experience in data engineering and cloud platforms.
- Technical Skills:
- Azure Services: Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- ETL Tools: Experience with ETL tools/frameworks like Apache Spark, Databricks Delta, or Azure Data Factory.
- Programming: Proficient in PySpark, Python, SQL, or Scala for data manipulation and scripting.
- Data Modeling: Knowledge of data modeling techniques and experience with data modeling tools.
- Database Technologies: Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
- Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Data Governance: Knowledge of principles and regulations related to data security and privacy (e.g., GDPR).
- Data Visualization: Experience with Microsoft Power BI to create BI reports and dashboards.
- Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving data issues.
- DevOps Proficiency: Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Chef, Puppet, GitHub).
