Job Description:
ExxonMobil seeks a Data Scientist to work on challenging problems focusing on sales and operations planning, logistics & distribution, and materials management within the global supply chain for hydrocarbons.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, software developers, and geoscientists globally to develop computational tools, models, or software.
- Apply machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning, statistical analysis, and data visualizations to solve science, engineering, and commercial problems.
- Design, build, and execute studies using proprietary or commercial tools, calibrate models to field data, and provide optimization recommendations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a score of 70% and above (equivalent CGPA) from a recognized university in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in data science applications, including time series analysis, machine learning, and natural language processing.
- Proficiency in Python or Dataiku.
- In-depth knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and machine learning methods.
- Experience in the full machine learning lifecycle, including problem formulation, data acquisition, model building, and enterprise-scale deployment.
- Specialization in sub-domains such as NLP, computer vision, time series forecasting, PINNs, and causality analysis.
- Experience with Python & R and related packages (numpy, pandas, sklearn, Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch).
- Experience with software engineering practices, agile methodologies, DevOps, and version control.
- Experience working in Azure Databricks or other data science frameworks.
- Software testing and development practices (Agile).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of supply chain operations, including demand planning, inventory optimization, vehicle routing, network optimization.
- Experience in developing, applying, and analyzing physics-based and/or data-driven computational models and simulations.
- Experience in commercial software development teams.
- Ability to identify and scope data science opportunities based on business needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
