As a DevOps and IT intern, you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills and knowledge related to maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems and networks. You will also get mentoring to learn DevOps tools and practices. While you are working as an intern, some specific areas that you may focus on include:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software components, including operating systems, servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
- Management of servers, desktops, laptops, and smart devices belonging to the organization, using tools like anti-virus solutions, firewall, and other relevant software.
- Managing user accounts, permissions, and security protocols to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems.
- Maintaining systems by applying patches and performing regular backups.
- Learn about and comply with various SOPs for system troubleshooting, maintenance, and security compliance.
- Coordinating with external vendors to obtain hardware and software.
- Monitoring system performance and identifying and resolving issues that may arise, such as system outages or hardware failures.
- Providing technical support to users, including diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and assisting with the installation and configuration of software and hardware.
