About the Role:
As an Android Developer (SDE I), you will:
- Perform code reviews, write unit tests, and contribute to architectural planning and refactoring.
- Work on bug-fixing and improving application performance.
- Design and build new features and improvements for the Android platform.
- Mentor interns and support team members.
- Collaborate closely with QA, Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers across the company.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1+ years in a relevant role, having worked on two or more Android apps.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and the ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Material Design guidelines and common mobile UX patterns.
- Experience with Android libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, Picasso, RxJava, Gson, Arch-components, etc.
- Understanding of programming paradigms, particularly functional and reactive programming.
- Familiarity with consuming REST APIs.
- Proficiency in Git and continuous integration.
- Understanding of advanced Android concepts such as Custom Views, Accessibility Services, background processing APIs.
- Knowledge of different architectural patterns, particularly MVVM, and their testability.
- Proficiency in debugging, including identifying memory leaks and performance bottlenecks.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code.
- Apps published to Play Store are a plus.
