Role Description:
The Cadet Career Development Officer ensures that cadet berths are occupied by qualified, certified, and medically fit cadets. The role involves planning cadet rotations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting cadet career development.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Plan cadet rotations, ensuring compliance with national and international requirements.
- Identify cadets meeting customer requirements for crew supply business.
- Communicate with cadets and vessel CMPs to ensure availability and client approval.
- Monitor cadet mobilisation processes, ensuring compliance with CMM/VMS and client requirements.
- Manage the seafarer pool in accordance with procedures and training/qualification matrices.
- Ensure cadet compliance with relevant legislation and agreements.
- Provide support and guidance to the Global Cadet Programme Director.
- Control costs and assist in the preparation of cadet budgets.
- Develop professional relationships with crewing staff, customers, and onboard managers.
- Conduct performance appraisals and identify training and development needs.
- Work closely with mobilisation teams and vessel coordinators for efficient crew changes.
- Monitor cadet career progression from intake to further ranks.
