Job Description For Communications Intern at ACLU of Florida – Miami, FL (Remote):


The Communications Intern will contribute to the day-to-day functions of the communications department, including writing various materials, building media expertise, increasing coverage of ACLU issues, monitoring news trends, and engaging in research projects.

Experience & Qualifications For Communications Intern at ACLU of Florida – Miami, FL (Remote):

  • Strong oral, written, and editing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Avid news reader
  • Familiarity with news media and online platforms
  • Familiarity with best practices in communications and public relations
  • Experience in journalism, public relations, communications, or content creation preferred
  • Interest and commitment to social justice, civil rights, and liberties
  • Proficiency in Associated Press style is a plus
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Asana, Slack, and Canva
  • Fluency in Spanish or Kreyol preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits For Communications Intern at ACLU of Florida – Miami, FL (Remote):

  • $15 per hour for those not receiving course credit
  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Arrangements can be made for work/study or course credit
