Job Summary:
As a business data analyst at ChannelAssist, you will be responsible for leveraging data to drive business solutions and support decision-making processes. This role involves collecting, preparing, and analyzing large datasets, generating insights, and providing actionable recommendations to improve business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets using SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools.
- Develop statistical models and perform complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Translate data findings into actionable business insights and recommendations.
- Reporting and Visualization:
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel initially, with progression towards reporting data visualization tools.
- Manage client databases and reporting, as well as channel incentive software.
- Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and insights.
- Develop ad-hoc reports as needed to support specific business needs and initiatives.
- Business Requirements and Documentation:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and gather detailed requirements.
- Document business requirements, data flows, and user stories to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes and analysis methodologies.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization through data analysis and recommend improvements.
- Support the implementation of data-driven solutions to enhance business processes and operational efficiency.
- Monitor the impact of implemented changes and refine strategies as needed.
- Data Governance and Quality:
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all data sources and reports.
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to maintain high data quality standards.
- Conduct regular data audits and quality checks to identify and resolve data issues.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between business units, IT, and data teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Present data insights and analysis results to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Provide training and support to business users on data tools and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Administration, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a related role with a strong emphasis on data analysis.
- Proven experience in data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, Access, Tableau, Power BI, Copilot for MS Office, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and statistical software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality principles, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
Work Environment:
- Remote-based position working with a global remote program management team in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
- Coordination of work hours in support of planning and communications with the in-region and headquarters team is required.
- Collaborating and working with cross-functional teams in Program Management, Development, Finance, and Marketing can be expected.
- May require occasional travel to headquarters for face-to-face meetings, could be annually.
